Wave Hi all,

I worked at the Balimore Club in the 70's and loved it. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and met many friends, some of whom I have remained in contact with over these many years. I have many wonderful memories and mementoes: stirrers, pics, glasses, mugs, ashtrays, my training manual (do you remember the call in sequence?) , a tail, collar, cuffs, cuff links, ears, pictures and some magazines.

However, the costume that I had was stolen.

Some of my mementoes were collected on ebay but I have not been able to replace the costume that was taken. Most that have been offered for sale are out of my price range.

Is there another Bunny out there that would like to send their costume to a loving home? I'm willing to pay a reasonable price. Please email if you are interested. Thanks.

Bunny Danny

Its not just a costume that's for Halloween, it's a heritage. They do sell for over $1000, if you can find them out there.

Dont give it away, they are very rare. Hefner sold one at auction for about $7000 through Butterfields in 2002 (playboy auction catalog page 21).

You're right it's not just a costume. But when I worked for Playboy as a Bunny in the 70s that was how we referred to the "bodice'. It was a wonderful experience that I wouldn't trade for anything and it is a part of my heritage that I am very proud of. Luckily I still have my tail, collar and cuffs. Bunny

They are out there, it just takes time to get one for a good price, without breaking the bank.

I know how hard it is to get an original bodice, iI have one, Three came up on eBay recently, very expensive but you get what you pay for... History! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I can recall when I was working at the GG club when the transformation went from Playboy to Americana Hotels in the early 1980s that the bunny 'costumes' were disappearing almost immediately after the girls were let go. I also was aware that some of the bunny outfits were being destroyed with razor blades to keep them from finding their way into the public.

Many of them did make it out of the hotel. I'm glad they did as it can now be a part of history and the mere fact that there aren't many of them available keeps them as an artifact and keeps the prices high...also detering them from being used on Holloween! They are a symbol of Americana in a time when we looked at a woman of beauty for just that: beauty. Today, the porn industry has destroyed the image of beauty to some extent. But the Playboy women will always be above such trash.

I miss the days gone by and my fun times at GG. I hope we are all doing well in life and that you continue to tell those that you are proud to have been associated with Playboy Enterprises. I know I am.

John

Thanks for a nice letter, regarding the Playboy Bunnies. Today Playboy, seems all about, trash and sleaze. We were part of the era that was classy.
