Hello all 
Thought you might be interested in this news.
BBC are to develop a drama based on the London Playboy Club. The project is being produced by Diverse Production, an award-winning and respected independent production company.
Research is being carried out at the present to be as accurate as possible for when filming begins.

I was contacted by Ursula Macfarlane on the 9th May regarding this project. I sent her a list of contact details of former London Playboy Club staff, including your own Terri. I also included information regarding other information to pursue, including quite a few books.
I never heard back.
That made me think this person was a fake, and there have been quite a few of them who have contacted the site over the years. So I contacted both the BBC and Diverse Productions to enquire if this person and the project was legitimate.
Again, I never heard back.
That's not to say this isn't legitimate of course. But it does prove that people who work in television are mannerless oafs who would kill their own mothers if it furthered their careers (and would probably film it for a tawdry shock-umentary).

That's the rumour. But there was also a rumour it was going to be Leonardo DiCaprio and another that it would be Hugh Jackman. (In the Sixties Tony Curtis was discussed for the role in a proposed film about Hefner and his business, to be simply titled, 'Playboy'.)
Whoever will be cast in the new movie, it will having nothing to do with any BBC production.
If the BBC series was commissioned, it probably wouldn't need a Hugh Hefner character. I think he only visited the London Playboy Club twice, once for the 1966 opening and again in 1969 as a stopover on his world travels with then girlfriend Barbi Benton.
It'd be a smart act of reciprocal promotion if whoever appears as Hefner in the Hollywood production has a cameo in the BBC series.

Hello Alan
I have been contacted by Ursula and can tell you that she is legitimate as my husband checked her out before helping her
with her project.
It was bad manners on her part not to take the time to thank you for your help.
I am sure she will when she finds time, She seems a very nice person.
It was interesting to learn from you that it was 1969 that Hef came to the club with Barbi, I remember meeting them.
I thought it was 1970 I became a bunny so now I know it was in fact 1969 the year I was married.
If and when this film is made it will be interesting to see.
